Mobile NDIS occupational therapy in Sydney

Rewired Therapy’s occupational therapists come to you, at home, at school or in the community, so therapy happens where the skills are actually used. We work with NDIS participants of all ages, from young children to adults, on the everyday tasks that matter to them.

What our occupational therapists help with

Functional capacity assessments (FCA)
A thorough assessment of your goals, abilities and support needs, with a detailed report for the NDIA where it’s needed. These are often used for plan reviews and new funding requests.

Assistive technology (AT) assessments
Assessments and trials to make sure you have the right equipment for daily living, such as wheelchairs, shower chairs, adaptive utensils and electronic assistive devices. We write the reports and quotes the NDIS needs.

Home modification assessments
We assess your home and recommend changes, such as rails, ramps or bathroom modifications, that make it safer and easier to live in, and prepare the reports needed for NDIS funding.

Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) assessments
Assessments to work out suitable living arrangements and the level of support needed.

SOS feeding therapy
Our occupational therapists are trained in the SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) Approach to Feeding. It’s a playful, step-by-step program for children who eat a very limited range of foods, refuse whole food groups or find mealtimes stressful, and it gives families practical strategies to use at home.

Ongoing occupational therapy
Therapy built around each participant’s goals, including fine motor skills, emotional regulation, self-care and daily living skills, problem-solving and communication.

Occupational therapy at school
We can work with students in the classroom and playground and share strategies with teachers and learning support staff. Rewired Therapy is a prequalified provider under the NSW Department of Education’s Specialist Allied Health and Behaviour Support Provider Scheme, so NSW public schools can engage us through the scheme.

Telehealth
Some sessions can be done by secure video call when that suits the participant better.

Who we work with

We support NDIS participants with a wide range of disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, sensory processing disorders, intellectual disability, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, dementia, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury and stroke.

Where we work

Our occupational therapists are based in Homebush, Chatswood and Coogee and visit participants across Sydney, including Parramatta, Cumberland, the North Shore, the Eastern Suburbs, St George, the Inner West and Canterbury-Bankstown. What to expect

Your first session is an initial assessment of 60 to 90 minutes. We talk through your goals and daily activities, do a physical assessment and set up a therapy plan. Follow-up sessions usually run for 45 to 60 minutes, depending on your needs.

Funding

We support self-managed, plan-managed and agency-managed NDIS participants. Our fees follow the NDIS price guide and are paid from your NDIS plan.

Common questions

Can an NDIS occupational therapist come to my home or my child’s school?
Yes. All our OT is mobile. We visit homes, schools and community settings.

Do I need an OT report for my NDIS plan review?
Often, yes. A functional capacity assessment report gives the NDIA clear evidence of your support needs. We can talk through whether one would help when you refer.

Can you help with picky eating?
Yes. Our OTs are trained in the SOS Approach to Feeding for children with feeding difficulties.
